Question forum the forum: I have read a lot of conflicting information – some say a good pair of hiking boots is required, especially if you are going in the Winter or Spring. Other sites say that hiking boots are overkill and that hiking shoes, or even a good pair of running shoes are sufficient. [...]
In summer there are a lot of pilgrims walking. To get away from the crowds, some choose to walk in winter time. This can perfectly be done, but you need to be prepared for closed albergues and snow in higher elevations. Our pilgrims over in the Camino de Santiago forum discusses more on this here.
