See a topic that is Spam or in other ways inappropriate?

Postby ivar on 10 Feb 2011, 12:09

Hi all,

Since we have now so many posts in the forum each day, it is difficult for the moderators to read all of them. So what I was hoping is that if you see a posts that is spam or that you think is inappropriate, that you would notify the moderators.

How do you do this?
Towards the top-right of every posts there is an icon that looks like a triangle:
notify-moderators.png
notify-moderators.png (5.97 KB) Viewed 8503 times

...pressing this icon on the post in question will flag this post for the moderators to have a look at.

I hope that this will make it easier for us to keep the forum useful and free of not-so-useful content.

Thanks for helping out everyone!

Buen Camino!

Rhyming slang hasnt made it far as Exeter yet, it would interfere with their cider drinking. Its more North Riding lad who spent too many years in London.

I have relaxed a little bit requirement with the "scrambled letters" that you need to type in when you register. (Had some complaints...)

...but this means that spammer will have it a bit easier to sign up.. so please press the triangle button (see above) if you see spam postings!!

Thanks for helping out!!

Hi there,

I have just opened this section of the forum:
walking-tours/
...where you can make a post about your tours. I think it would be best if you only posted tours related to the Camino de Santiago since we are all here looking for information on that.

I am trying this new section out... I hope it will work as I expect, a good place for companies and pilgrims to connect.. If it does not work, and only becomes a place companies to present their products and no pilgrims interact, I might remove this section in the future. For me the interaction is important, and it is important that the pilgrims visiting this section see it as useful.

Greetings from Santiago,
Ivar

Hi Ivar,

I posted a thread a few days ago asking about if any of the people on the forum have ever taken their children on the camino. When I went to see if there were any new responses, it appears to have been deleted. I can't even find it when I search my own posts. Was there a reason for it being deleted? Thanks, Mark

Hello Ivar & Moderators,

What is the Forum stance on using Avatars and e-mail signatures to advertise a business or a product? When is it considered SPAM?

Yours sincerely,
Lovingkindness

I don't think we have ever talked about this... so far I have not seen any avatars that was over the line. I think a commercial link in the signature is ok, a commercial avatar probably too, but the conversation should be free from pushing a commercial product*.

*=The rule we have is that each camino related product can be presented in one posts, then after that no more. Repeated post promoting the same product will be deleted.

We have to balance this some way, so far this has been working well.

Saludos,
Ivar
