This was the most welcome sight on the Camino! Great hospitality and food. 5 stars.

Would strongly recommend a stay at Orisson if you don’t want to over expert yourself on first day. The views are glorious, hospitality warm, food and fellowship fantastic. Need to book ahead. Stayed there in May 2010.

I stayed here in 2006 on my first camino. Great food and atmosphere, lovely views. It’s a treat to try a French style “gite”. Book ahead!

How long does it take to get to Orisson from SJPP? Also does anyone know what clothes to wear April 22 going Napoleans Way? I really want to stay in Orisson..Leaving SJPP 4/2/2013..

Lovely hostel. Delicious food. A real ‘refugio’. Highly recommend.

After the very steep walk from St. Jean Pied de Port, Orisson was a very welcome and beautiful sight. The staff were extremely kind, friendly and helpful. The food was some of the best I tasted on the Camino and the idea of everybody introducing themselves after the evening meal was unique and very nice; this formed the beginning of some pleasant friendships. If Michel from Quebec sees this post, please contact me.

I stayed here on 24th Sep.’13. I started SJPP around 2:30 pm and it took > 3 hrs to get here. It was hot day and road is steep, so little difficult to walk. Because of dinner time at 6:30 pm, it’s better start early. Dinner was very nice and every one introduced himself or herself. Clean and friendly staff.
