Le chemin de Saint-Gilhem-le Désert

This is a pilgrim route in France which I gave just completed (well most of it). The route goes from Aumont- Aubrac using the gr65 (which is the Le Puy camino) as far as Saint Chely d'Aubrac, then it leaves the Le Puy route and goes as far as Saint Guilhem le Désert.

Because I was on a five week trip in France which included the Alps ten days using gr 5, High Provence and Gorges du Verdon but including the camino route gr653D. I done the St Guilhem route in reverse starting in St Guilhem. It is an amazing journey, not many people on it but well service by reasonable priced good quality Gite d'Etape. It is a tough rote in places especially through Gorges de la Vis. I walked it from July 8th to finishing in Espallion on July 18th. I have written a small piece in my blog about it but have included a large selection of photographs which will give anyone thinking of doing it a feel for the route.
