Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
We hope to start on the 20th April 2014, but we are slow walkers and we will also be taking a rest day in Burgos and then Leon, so we might run into each other. Buen Camino!

Hola JP,
Burgos & Leon are both good places to have rest days. However, rest days often don't end up as such because there is so much to see, whether the Cathederals or the Abbey of Cartuja de Miraflores in Burgos, or the Basilica of San Isidoro in Leon. Also, terrific tapas areas particularly in Leon.
Had a quick look at your blog, lovely photos, beautiful paths to train for your camino.
I think you might end up the fittest people on the way to Santiago.
Buen Camino
Colin

Fantastic photos JP, I'm envious of your locations, they are really beautiful and inspiring. :D
Keep up the great work, you'll be bouncing up those trails in no time
Cheers

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Loved looking at all your practice walks in such beautiful places. Hear you're finding it tough. I read somewhere that the first week can be brutal until the body gets used to it. I will find out myself as my husband (70) and I (67) are starting out on May 5 from St. Jean Pied de Port. Be encouraged. You have worked hard to get here. Just lighten your backpack as some suggest. Go forward and Buen Camino.

I had my final practice walk today. The 16.5 mile Santa Rosa Road through the Santa Rita Hills wine country in Central California.
Today's walk was brutal, as the temperature was in the 90's, topping out @ 99 deg. Fahrenheit.

They say that anything that doesn't kill you, makes you stronger....... Hope so.

Leaving Thursday and arriving SJPdP on May 10th and beginning my Camino on May 12th.
