Sleeping bags?

Do we need sleeping bags on the Camino Via De La Plata in September? we do have bag liners with us. Love all the information we get from this forum.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Hi Kernell. I am walking Sept/ October also and taking a lightweight bag as well as a large silk liner (for the south) You will probably need a bag as you get past Salamanca. I was quite chilly at times in Galicia the last time I walked and it was June! . I do feel the cold though. Cheers Grace

Lots of diverse opinions about bags vs. liners. Modern down bags can be quite light (Zpacks, Marmot, etc) and may only be heavier than some liners by a couple hundred grams. I like to know that I will sleep warmly at night and not be dependent on what might (or might not) be available the next day. Others trust in the infrastructure. (I also like to camp and would bring a bivvy bag or tent along with me.)

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

First Camino was in October we took sleeping bags and left them behind in Burgos and bought liners. Next Camino was in May and we used only liners and several times shivered a lot. Third we went back with sleeping bags, but a lighter pack. Might be my bones are getting older. :)

This just goes to show that you can't predict the weather! ;)
