Santiago - Can you still hug him at the Cathedral?

I have a friend there now and it doesn't seem to be open to hug Santiago. Masks are no longer required today. What is the issue with another restriction on traditional pilgrim practice? I confess this is irksome! It seems unnecessary. It's been closed since the interior was restored. Is this...

I made it one day- what I wished I had understood more clearly

You are the only one who can make the call whether to continue or to step back. I noticed that you have indicated walking the Ingles as an aspiration. It too can be a real challenge if you are not prepared. Even though it can be done in manageable length stages, there's a fair amount of asphalt...

For Sale/Wanted Camino gear for sale

I offer a thought for whatever it is worth - May I suggest, you might want to hold off on divesting yourself of your equipment. I know a LOT of peregrinos who came back around to wanting to repeat after being initially sure that they didn't. Don't be in a hurry if you don't have to be.

    Underwear right size

I've had nothing but good experience with Ex-Officio boxers on three caminos. Give them a try. Go with the ones that fit well now.

    That movie

I saw it after I got home the first time and laughed to see that in the movie there did not seem to be any hills. What one of my Camino family called, because of the inherent pain, "Pilgrim fun!" In spite of that and the obvious lack of perspiration - I liked the movie.

To get a bus or not to get a bus.

It is your Camino. I caught the bus into Leon at Mansilla and have absolutely no regrets - I needed the break and time constrained - your Camino is Your Camino!

    Padre's Primitivo

Rextra, The weather was very good. Very comfortable temperatures during the day, a little cool at night and when up high. If you plan to go the Hospitales route (I highly recommend it!), just stay up on the weather forecast. We had the threat of rain (got soaked just outside of Berducedo at the...

Laurie, I now have a matched set of the very thing - picked them up in Fonsagrada - the Farmacista even got out a tape measure and made sure I was fitted properly. I could not have made it without them.

    Padre's Primitivo

So, just to bring all up to date. I am in St Irene private albergue tonight. What a marvelous place. Fire in the stove, hake supper to die for. It doesn't get much better than this. Even have clean clothes! And into Santiago de Compostela tomorrow. What a wonderful experience, but I am...
