I have a friend there now and it doesn't seem to be open to hug Santiago. Masks are no longer required today. What is the issue with another restriction on traditional pilgrim practice? I confess this is irksome! It seems unnecessary. It's been closed since the interior was restored. Is this...
You are the only one who can make the call whether to continue or to step back. I noticed that you have indicated walking the Ingles as an aspiration. It too can be a real challenge if you are not prepared. Even though it can be done in manageable length stages, there's a fair amount of asphalt...
I offer a thought for whatever it is worth - May I suggest, you might want to hold off on divesting yourself of your equipment. I know a LOT of peregrinos who came back around to wanting to repeat after being initially sure that they didn't. Don't be in a hurry if you don't have to be.

Arrival yesterday was wonderful. Met Anne & Adrian at the Pilgrim Office. Then got reunited with my Primitivo Hermanos. A joyful celebration supper at Manolo's. And then we finished with a queimada at Bar Raixo. Great fun!
We were there just the other night. Paella con mariscos, was very welcome after all the ups and downs! The hospitality was great. The chupito welcome! Gracias por todos.
So, just to bring all up to date. I am in St Irene private albergue tonight. What a marvelous place. Fire in the stove, hake supper to die for. It doesn't get much better than this. Even have clean clothes! And into Santiago de Compostela tomorrow. What a wonderful experience, but I am...
