    Yes, I can confirm that this year we have an increase of pelgrims who start in Vezelay on their way to Assise. A lot of french people dot that pilgimage instead of Santiago. We= my wife and I and we have a little refugio in Chastellux sur Cure (24km from Vezelay).

    IMHO: crossing the bridge to Irun gives you 2 options : directly on your right there are some shops AND a simple hotel ( don't remember the name!). There's also an albergue in Irun run by the association of pelgrims in Irun: if you google you will find them! PB: it's less then a 5 minute walk...
