    You are not alone in finding the descent from the Alto del Perdon difficult. It is not only the slope, but also the rolly, pebbly surface. There is nothing that difficult between Uterga and Logroño, either up or down.

    One of my reasons to keep walking the Camino is to practice tolerance, especially as I get older....I really don't want to turn into a COP (cranky old person). If I find myself getting too irritated then it is time for a hotel or a detour onto a solitary path.

    I love cashmere, especially next to the skin, but find it does not take kindly to being under a backpack, or being in contact with anything velcro. Think about whether you are happy for your cashmere to be ruined, and maybe substitute with something a bit more robust.

    Just impossible to tell. I'm arriving on 8th October and hopefully should be OK whether it is hot or cold. I find long sleeve light merino is bearable even in hot weather, as long as it is loose fitting. But I am throwing in a short sleeve top too.
