    That looks familiar!

Well, you ARE on the food island...! My cousin, who was a complete foodie and food blogger, was very impressed with Richard's lobster rolls. The folks who own the restaurant opened a second location in Victoria By The Sea, which is also popular. Always line ups to get those lobster rolls. I get...

    That looks familiar!

Yes, Cape Breton has big hills, as well as big-hearted, and big talented people! PEI has lots of the latter, but the big hills? We leave those to the Capers. :D

    That looks familiar!

We lost 40% of our trees because of Hurricane Fiona. Much of PEI is still being cleaned up because of the damage.

    That looks familiar!

Give me a shout if you want to meet up for a coffee or something. It's summer so I work six days a week, but I don't start until 3pm now, soon 2pm soon enough (until 10pm). By all means possible, make your way to the National Park, to the Covehead Harbour, and go to Richard's Fresh Seafood for...

    That looks familiar!

Bwahahahaha!!! Our highest point on the Island is 152 metres above sea level--no mountains, though we have places called Mount Stewart (at sea level), Mount Albion, Mount Herbert, Mount Hope, and etc. None are very tall!

Camino Souvenirs and gifts - what's popular?

Taking gifts back from trips, to family and friends: I take home cloth shopping bags from grocery stores for me and others--they are in the language of the place, they can have interesting graphics and colours, they are unique for the person being given them, they are useful to the person...

Booking a Horseback Ride to O Cebreiro

I understand, TO; I was making a joke on the grammatical double. :D I hope the weather in Toronto is fabulous and there isn't a chance of flooding as there is in Ottawa and Montreal...

Booking a Horseback Ride to O Cebreiro

I think it's only ever possible to book in advance...never after an event/item/place... ;) :p😆

Walking at 4 am. Under a full moon?

I've only been in Yukon once and in the summer--that included a road trip up the Dempster to almost 100 km from the NWT, and a rafting trip into Kluane National Park--and never ever saw the full moon then! Your photo is gorgeous! I'd love to go back.

As well, Canada, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Venezuela, Ethiopia and 44 other countries around the planet use the 911 emergency number... ;)

Training, heavy rain for 2 weeks

I'm sorry to hear that, Rick; I hope your better half (which half, I ask and wonder!?) took her snowshoes with her when visiting the east coast! Newfoundland (and Labrador) gets the worst of the weather, I think, especially hurricanes and snowstorms. Today here on this island, we're at a...

    Chiropractors on the Frances?

While chiropractic medicine was started and developed by Daniel D. Palmer in Iowa, US, it's a form of healthcare practiced and regulated in 40 countries all over the world.

Training, heavy rain for 2 weeks

You got snow this year, Rick! I hope you had all seasons on your car, mitts, hat, and a scarf! We here on PEI are in a three day snow plonk--good for the snowshoeing!

    Needing a livestock refresher course

    They just did, Laurie! LOL

    Ticks on the Frances?

On the Vasco Interior...that sounds like a painful spot to get a tick, Laurie! Is it close to the Vastus Medialis?! ;)

    Physical prep

Walk, stretch, and strength train: a good triad of physical fitness. Start as early as possible and walk as much as possible. Start off with the kms you can do...keep adding on until you can walk without losing your breath or feeling you can't take anymore. Remember, if you head out, you have...

    Hello from a Canadian newbie

Possibly, or maybe even probably. But the impact of walking or running placed on a small structure such as a shoe is going to break it down at some point, including the cushioning in the shoe. https://runnersconnect.net/how-long-before-you-have-to-change-running-shoes/...

    Hello from a Canadian newbie

My Hokas have over 2000 km on them at this point, C clearly, so I don't prescribe to the recommendation myself! But shoes can start breaking down at some point and 600 km is what we were told is the time to buy new ones when I had my part-time job at a store here that specialized in running gear...

    Hello from a Canadian newbie

C clearly, running shoes (all shoes) have a life expectancy of 600 km, so if you got 800 km out of your Ghosts, you did well. I wear Ghosts running and Hokas on my distance walks here at home and am pleased with them both. Hello 2ctheworld, from Canada's East Coast/PEI! (I walk all year round...

In Canada a new trail inspired by the Camino

Since the conversation in this thread is of two trails here on PEI (there are far more than that, however) the Confederation Trail and it's branches are part of the Trans Canada Trail (apparently officially known as The Great Trail of Canada--I still call it the Trans Canada Trail), not the...
