    Pack Cover Failure

Sea to Summit has never failed me. Don’t wash it. Surface clean only.

    Topo Wearers!

I haven't walked a lot of consecutive miles in them. The midwest weather hasn't allowed for that but for "regular" 25km walks they are good. I like the lugs on the sole and the three different foams in the heel.

    Topo Wearers!

I too am a Topo convert. I switched from Altra most recently. For my next adventure I have purchased the Traverse. I have not had to size up but I generally wear my shoes "roomy". I have plenty of length to descend without touching the front. You won't be disappointed.

How to wash a back pack?

For years I have taken two packs to a commercial laundromat. Find one of the oversized load machines and lay the packs in straight. I have all the buckles fastened. Wash on cold. Remove and air dry. It has worked every time without damage to the packs. We have 35 and 40 liter packs.

    Medical Care in Sahagun

I used their services once and was was very pleased with the outcome. Great people

    Ferrino backpack?

I have just finished walking the Via Postumia and Via Degli Dei using a Ferrino Agile 35. I like it. The waist belt is on the narrow side but other than that it has worked well.

    Difference Between Altras

I have worn all three of the Altra models you have asked about. I am currently walking the Via Postumia in the new Olympus waterproof shoes. I think they have more cushion in the heel and don’t feel at all unstable. I am a physical therapist and had my hip replaced 6 months ago so had to be...

    Lone Peak 6

I was excited about the LP6 when I heard it was coming out. I had a chance to try it on at REI last week. I didn't buy them because they felt sloppy on me. I have had LP5 and LP4 and LP3 so I am pretty acquainted with them. If you try them, I would not increase in size. Good luck with your...

    Chaco Odyssey Sandals?

I have had the Odyssey for about two years. They aren’t something I would walk long distances in. They would be a good option for walking in the evening as they are light weight. I too have walked many days in my original Chacos but these wouldn’t work for me.

    Towel - Help!

I use a piece of raw silk fabric with the ends hemmed. Light weight, dries quickly and best of all it works to dry your body.

    Walking around Spain

Perhaps you are fortunate enough to be a dual citizen. Have fun planning. That is so much of the fun.

Checked the “toe issues” threads... this one is not addressed (so far)

I have also had this problem and am in the too thick of a sock camp. There is a fine line between padding and compressing.

    Four Categories of Pilgrims

I appreciate your comments and also am reticent to open up and share lest the same happens to me.

    Altus poncho repair help needed

I re-sealed my seams with the iron on tape. Low temperature iron and using a cotton cloth to protect the nylon. So far so good. The curved seams are a little more difficult but manageable.

    Free socks

Feetures does the same. I have done it without issue.

    Free socks

Very resourceful! I identify with that!

    Washing Backpack - Dumb Questin?

I too wash my pack in a front loading machine. I take it to a self-service laundromat with high capacity machines. Slip it in lengthwise with a mild soap and it is like new when it comes out. I air dry it. I have done Vaude, Osprey, Arcteryx and Gregory packs without adverse effects. I use a...

I find that resource difficult to use. I’ll try again. Thanks.

We are in Bolsena. We have experienced the same thing. We will be in La Storta on 5/11 and are having trouble finding a place to stay. Where did you end up.
