    Camino in 18 days

We had 14 days to walk and first thought about doing the last 14 days but decided that, for us, the Camino was about the journey and not about arriving in Santiago so we started in St Jean and thought we would just walk and see where we got to in the 14 days. We ended up walking to Burgos. We...

    Which Route?

We walked from St Jean to Burgos end May/beg June 2008 and never had a problem finding beds. Only once did we have people getting up at 5 (that was in Zubiri) and we normally started walking at about 7.30 or sometimes 8.00. Don't know if we were just out of the bubble of pilgrims but most days...

    how to care about legs?

The first few days we walked my hubby's feet were sore ... he said they felt bruised underneath. At one of the albergue's they suggested he soak them in cold water with 2 handfuls fo salt and a spoon of vinegar which he did. Said they felt much better.

    Accomodation in SJPDP

When we tried to book at Esprit du Chemin before we started our walk in May they also came back and said it was full. But when we arrived in St Jean we took a chance and went there and they had a sign up saying "2 places available"!!! There is a municipal albergue in St Jean but I suggest you...

    First Pilgrimage September 2008

Hi Jill We used Caroline's taxi service last month. She charged us 27 euro each (there were 7 people in the bus altogether) and the bus left Pamplona at 6 p.m. We got to St Jean just before 8 p.m. Hope this helps.

    Hair

I have shortish hair and will definitely be taking a (small) brush, shampoo, conditioner. Found a brush for travelling where the handle folds up over the bristles (if you know what I mean). I can do without most things but absolutely have to wash my hair almost every day
