While not finding a bed each day a problem last September, I believe the "real" race is for line or stand drying space. After washing your clothes, it was quite frustrating not to be able to find any good place to dry them before the sun went down.
I would like to find "melon." That's all it was called; dark green rind and pale green on the inside. If my eyes were closed I would have sworn that it was honey dew melon. Great with ham slices. I would love to find it in that States.
This isn't about food per se but related. After a wonderful meal in Santiago the Server brought out three bottles - one dark like Kailua, the second a chartreuse color, and the third clear. Small glasses the we so chilled that they were frosted came with the liquiors.

To all those who have not reach Sahagun, go to the Monasterio de la Peregrina west of the San Benito/Santa Clara Arch and tour the museum. Here you can also get your mid-way (half way) Compostela. Briefly fails to mention this in his guide book.
I am currently walking the Camino and am in Estella right now. Many more kilometers to go, of course. I live in Neenah, Wisconsin. (I'm "pilgrim47" on the pilgrim forum, but I'm replying on a fellow Peregrino's iPad so this reply may come from a different name. But count me in re forming a...
Thank you. I believe this is the one. There was a thread about an English speaking Spanish club that meets on Tuesday nights but I couldn't find that either.
