If you've walked the Primitivo and had the good luck of staying at the albergue in San Juan de Villapanada (about 25-27 kms from Oviedo), you will undoubtedly remember the hospitalero Domingo. He is one of those camino characters.

This article describes how he really went above and beyond to help out a couple of peregrinos in need. A Czech pilgrim was bitten by a snake in the town of Lago (after Montefurado and before Berducedo) and had to be airlifted to a hospital in Oviedo, where she remained hospitalized for a week. They had previously stayed in Domingo's albergue, and somehow he found out they were in the hospital, went to see them, and took them with his family on vacation to Galicia so they could hug the Apostle in Santiago.
So you never know when you'll find a camino angel. Hmmm, I guess you never know when you'll find a camino viper either. :|
I've never heard of anything like this on the Primitivo, so I hope it doesn't dissuade people from walking. Buen camino, Laurie
