Last minute second guessing

I leave for Paris in 2 weeks.....I have 36 days to walk and have gone back and forth on which route to choose......is the primitivo doable as of April 7th...I feel like this would be the best for views..but I can't pull the trigger on France's or primitivo....I have thought about just doing the France's to muxia or some of the norte to primitivo to muxia....I just don't know what to do....help...


My Spanish is minimal ....I know basics ...ie directions ,cost, where is, common phrases.
Hiking...appalation trail
I don't mind walking in the cold....but I don't like freezing if that makes since.

It's late so bare with my spelling.

Any thoughts would be helpful....

You have the time and you know the main differences in these routes. There's not much anyone can say which will help your choice - you just have to decide! For me the weather would probably be the determining factor - in April it will still be variable (what a euphemism!) if you need more infrastructure, assistance with language and meeting other pilgrims then it might be the Camino Frances...more of an adventure then ...

If you look at the points where you can switch Caminos it might help you. Eg from Francés, Leon to Oviedo, then Primitivo to Salas. Beyond Salas at La Espina it is possible to go north to the Norte, the last place to do so. If the snow line is below 2000mts then this is the best option as the passes beyond Tineo are very high. If there is either no snow, or only above 2000mts, then continue on the Primitivo. You can then go through to Melide or drop back onto the Francés from the Roman bridge at Casa de Ponti (before Ferreira) following the side roads to Palas de Rei.

Some folks have had better weather in April than others in May. If in doubt once en route ask the locals. and follow their advice. That means some Spanish is useful.
