Has any one stayed at the Carmelite convent ?
Last September the Tourist office told me the convent no longer took in pilgrims....
Any information gratefully received.

I stayed at Hostal Fornos and was very happy with it. It is around the corner from the Cathedral, literally 1 min from the main square. They have very affordable prices for 1-person rooms. I believe I paid 32 euro for a single-person room with two descent-sized beds, a huge bathtub, candy, dry blower and all the comforts one might wish (apart from breakfast). They do not speak much English but this was not a problem as they were very keen to assist.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
If it's Convento de los pp Carmelitas, Alameda de la Fuencisca, I can tell you I got a barman to phone ahead for me last April and they said come ahead but once I arrived I was directed to travel about 1km further on to Zaramalla. Needless to say I was speechless, how could this happen to me, did the receptionist understand my intentions, I was totally knackered after my long walk, that's the only time I ever asked someone to phone ahead!!! But you know I hobbled up the hill easily enough.

So J. Walker's info is probably accurate. You must be thinking of heading that way again?
