Since yesterday, the pilgrimage to Compostela has two routes officially demarcated. A delimitation in November, the French Way only remained the stretch passing through Compostela now joins the Camino Primitivo, who allegedly ran the route King Alfonso II the Chaste when he came to Oviedo, the then capital of the kingdom of Asturias, news of the discovery of the remains of the Apostle.

The main route of the Camino Primitivo runs almost entirely by the traditional route, heir to the medieval road, except for those items which are lost or irretrievable. For these cases has been fixed in an alternative route that takes into account aspects of environmental quality, the presence of assets, construction conditions and, in general, territorial logic. At the same time, have collected traces with documented historical vestiges, stretches of the route of those still lost the remains and must be documented.
From now on, in the area bounded govern the protection regime Protection Lei Dos Caminos de Santiago. The General Directorate of Cultural Heritage intervene prior to a license, which resolved with physical conservation criteria of the way, respect and preservation Jacobean values of the traditional features of the area, which generally implies maintaining agricultural activities.
In addition, the Administration must be informed of all plans, programs and projects that alter the landscape area within the visual field of the road and could affect their values.
