Do I need to bring a flashlight with me on the Camino de Santiago?

Flashlight on the Camino de Santiago

Flashlight on the Camino de Santiago

The question was:

At this time of year when it is light so late, do I really need to bring a flashlight? Opinions please.

Or, will I need it to find my way to the bathroom during the night? I would still be worried about it bothering fellow pilgrims. Would most places not have some sort of night light?

to the person who asks if they need a flashlight. Do yourself a favour – don’t even leave your house.

A flashlight is always handy but be careful for too heavy or too bright. LED flashlight, even a small one with at least 12 led’s is handy to find the path in the dark. A headlamp is handy to use when you pack in the dark . Even one with three led’s are good and the batteries last very long.

Stages use below are the same as in the Brierly Guidebook
