Pilgrim Statistics

The statistics for February 2013 are out. These are the pilgrims that received the Compostela at the pilgrims office in Santiago de Compostela in February 2013.

During the month of February 2013 1.382 pilgrims were received at the Pilgrims’ Office. The number of pilgrims in the past Holy Year, 2010, during the same period was 1.640.

Of those pilgrims:

  • 509 (36,83%) were women
  • 873 (63,17%) men.

How did they travel?

  • 1.260 (91,17%) pilgrims arrived on foot
  • 112 (8,10%) by Bicycle
  • 9 (0,65%) on horseback
  • 1 (0,07%) pilgrims on wheelchair.

Age

  • 716 pilgrims were younger than 30 years old (51,81%)
  • 613 were between 30 and 60 years old (44,36%)
  • 53 were aged above 60 years old (3,84%)

Motivation

  • Religious and Cultural: 806 (58,32%)
  • Cultural: 62 (4,49%)
