  1. Modern , clean , Only two single beds per cubicle , kitchen with large separate dining area – one of the first ‘Super Albergues’ to be built. Spoil the pilgims I say.

  2. I recall this albergue as one of the best kept secret of the Camino…most people would go to Santo Domingo and a minority would stay at hornillos…since the albergue of Santo Domingo was a dream destination for many pilgrims after many days of not so good albergues, everyone would be heading there and would not stop at Hornillos. Hornillos is like a mini vacation ( or it used to be ) the albergue in this picture above I dont recognize at all, so they most have changed this place around to welcome more people..The one I remember was inside a little Church….

    1. In 2003 I spent a night in the small Albergue on the side of the church. It was really grubby and there was a lot of trouble caused by a drunk who was smoking pot as well (No hospitalero to take control) . In contrast , the new Albergue is a Pilgrim’s paradise. I have heard that the old albergue is still opened at peak times to accommodate more pilgrims.
