12th September 2016 - On my way to Los Arcos

Lisa, I strongly recommend that you take them, but also you need to look up on youtube how to use 'em!! Practice using them after you've watched the videos. Try going up steep hills with and without them, you'll notice a difference.
Also buy yourself a couple of rubber stoppers for the ends of them so that you can move along silently without getting on other pilgrims nerves.
Be aware most airlines won't let you carry them as cabin luggage.

We walked this stretch in July 2016. It was very hot and very little shade. I fainted a couple of times before reaching los Arcos. Hardest days walk on the Camino. Didn’t put me off though love it.
