I'm curious, did you have to check your Sirrus 36 Pack on the flight over there? Or were you able to bring it as carryon?

I would suggest 2 pairs of underwear and carry a bikini as swim wear doubling as emergency underwear as necessary. Also nappy safety pins are more robust. I travelled in late May 2010 and had such an amazing journey. I walked the second half on my own as my friend had a deadline.

Great posts here - thanks ladies! I'm about to embark on my first Camino (Del Norte, 22nd July)... starting in Irún. Have packed nothing yet-feel a great desire to abandon everything I own and just take off with a little bag and a big stick! I did want to camp too, but with the little research I've done, it doesn't seem that easy nor advised on this route... and so it looks like the tent might be staying behind this time. On a tight budget so I'll have to behave myself!
