Albergue Municipal Villamayor de Monjardin

Just a friendly FYI. That's not the municipal. It's one of the 2 (I think) private albergues in town. We stayed here last month in a private room. the one right above the door and Albergue sign The municipal was at the top on the hill to the right, beside the bar. All the albergues both private and the municipal were actually full the night we were there and several people had to walk on another 11-12 km to the next stop. The bar beside the municipal was the only one in town and not very friendly, at least not the night we were there ... even though all the albergues were full I think only 4 or 5 of us showed up to the pilgrims dinner at the bar and it was kind of a sad affair actually ... or perhaps just a bad night. The mood just seemed ... grim. Hubby and I had fun in spite of it tho Very pretty village but like them all ... empty! Oh and if anyone is interested the rooms in this private Alburge were very nice, clean and modern. Some dorm rooms but our was a double (1 bunkbed) with an ensuite bathroom and shower ... with the lovely opening window overlooking the street and church opposite ... very nice but compact. Breakfast in the common room in the morning, premade coffee/tea, orange juice, milk for hot chocolate and the standard toast, bread, yogurt, wrapped pastries etc. There is also a small modern kitchen and microwave and dishwasher if you want to make something more substantial. Laundry room on the premises.
