The 'senda' is a gravel path running alongside the paved road. From Sahagun to Mansilla de las Mulas is a tedious two days walk with some communities along the route. Don't try counting the little trees.
I remember those blistering hot days. I did not count the trees, but counted steps in sun, steps in shade provided by these skinny trees, then calculated the percentage of time not spent in sun because someone took the time to plant them... It is utterly amazing where your mind goes during those long days on the Camino, when it has mercifully gone otherwise blank!
