Last year I entered a photograph that i'd taken on my 2013 Camino into the national Open Art competition here in the UK. Amazingly enough I was shortlisted (from over 3200 entries) to 500 then after that was chosen as one of the 160 finalists and my photo was exhibited the NOA exhibition in London!
That's me and my photo! The photo was taken on one of my favourite parts of the camino - instantly recognisable to anyone who has walked. Between Cirueña and Santo Domingo de la Calzada Happily I sold the framed edition and have sold four unframed edition, only 5 of the edition of 10 left now...
Thanks for your kind comment @DanielH - I imagine your Christmas and holiday card were well received! I also walked September 2015! (and September 2013)
I originally produced the print for an exhibition last May - my friend who I walked with in 2015 who is an artist and myself had a joint exhibition locally - Walk this Way", the theme was our experiences walking the camino. It was great to meet people who had seen our yellow scallop shell and yellow arrows outside the exhibition and came in saying "we saw the scallop shell and knew it must be about the camino!" Most satisfying of all was chatting to people who were considering walking and seeing our exhibition was the catalyst for them making their final decision to go for it
That has to be one of my favourite views of the whole camino Frances.
The theme of the exhibition was spot on! So glad that you had an opportunity to share your photos and experiences and to mark the way with the shells and yellow arrows. I'm sure it was quite wonderful
I came upon this photo as one of the random ones that show up at the bottom of threads. Congratulations. I recognized the spot right away; I have two of this spot myself but they are only good enough to show to a captive audience at a slideshow.
