Is David still there? I hope so, because he is an amazing Camino Angel. It was mentioned on the Forum last year that he was no longer going to provide this service outside of Astorga.

Great news - Is Susie still with him? (Tall woman from Australia)

There were torrential rains last year and David was standing IN the river helping pilgrims get across. Without his help, I think a lot of folks would have had problems. Especially me. He is truly a Camino Angel. I look forward to seeing him again in a few short weeks.

@SabineP - I hope she is just on vacation or something. When he was in the river helping pilgrims, she was running a warming tent and serving hot tea on top of the hill where you took your photo. It was so nice to get out of the rain and wind for a few minutes before heading into Astorga. The unselfish kindness that they both gave to others was one of the highlights of my last Camino.
