The rocky downhill to Ponferrada
I hated that part of the camino. Thank God, it was a sunny day, I cannot imagine how to traverse that trail if it was raining.

take it this way: if it is the downhill to Molinaseco, I had another tough day:
In stead of that rocky mess, I missed the stretch completely. A large flock of 400 sheep blocked the stone plinths, and tired I progressed down the highway, down and down and curves and curves......but should have been over the hill.
Another 10K later, I staggered exhausted into Molinaseco, and I did not care if it was pretty or not...
To this day, I would have rather taken that rocky mess that your picture is showing....

Walking down the road in searing heat, I dared not stop but for a few seconds as I was convinced I would melt into the asphalt and be dug up many years later as a tar pit relic. I was so happy to cross the bridge into Molinaseca. Such an aptly named town.
