Burning Ritual at Finisterre

hey, I am loving the scallopy shell ring on your right middle fingie!!! and such warmth and sisterhood in the holding of each other..
do tell if found when on the Camino...
cheers from Oz

Pardon me - but what "ritual"??? There was a post a couple of months back concerning a fire (lit by some Australian pilgrims) that escaped. So is this ritual a modern event or did the pilgrims of the 11th / 12th Century "really" do this???
BTW - happy for the " sisters" to have shared their camino experiences.

No, medieval pilgrims' clothes were burnt on the roof of the cathedral in Santiago - the stone incinerator is still there, if you do the tour of the roof it will be pointed out. The burning of clothes at Finisterra is recent.
