Cart after Cruz de Ferro
I remember it well...although I was there in mid-July. The hike from Astorga to el Acebo was my 2nd favorite of the Camino...after the first day from Saint Jean to Roncevalles. I hit the donativo late in the day and so it wasn't full. But the Camino provides and I made it to el Acebo in relatively good shape

Thank you for commenting! I agree wholeheartedly on your comments. The spots that really were most memorable and impactful, not to diminish the other parts at all, were Pyrenees and Astorga on. I think if the entire journey had been snow I likely would have had an entirely different perspective.

I remember seeing this (I think I was a day behind you at this point?) and remember it bringing a great smile to my face that someone took the time and effort to not only make this little stand but to supply it even in the middle of winter. Those are the moments that are special in a winter walk.

No, I was always a day or two behind you other than Leon. Sadly when my wife and I passed the area in Feb this year there was no snow and the cart looked like it had been demolished and scattered about. Kind of a bummer. Made up for the disappointment earlier though by doing some exploring of another cairn I was told about after the Cruz de Ferro.

Are you walking soon?

Shame but at least it was captured and shared for others to see. Perhaps one day another one will take it's place. I'm back in Miami for work for the rest of the winter but planning for Porto - SdC in mid-March and then out to the coast. Should be a nice couple of weeks to get away and enjoy early spring foliage. Another one planned for you?
