I started walking the Norte last week and had problems getting an Albergue in San Sebastián, due to holidays, and had to settle for a hotel. There were no rooms to be had for the next two legs. We are now in Bilbo and plan to start walking on Thursday. Our goal was to join the Primitivo in a couple of weeks. With the latest news of over crowding, we are now thinking of going to the Frances (I walked it last year at this time with no problems).
We are really loving the Norte and would like to finish, and wonder if there is an expectation that things will loosen up?
