Fisnisterra, the end of the earth, and the Camino de Santiago. Once reaching it, after more than 40 days, you are somewhat sad that the journey is over. Picture taken June 18, 2013.
My great-grandmother left England late 1899, four days into journey, rough conditions and sea-sickness notwithstanding, they passed Cape Finisterre, they were thankful to be in smooth waters and on their way to the Rock of Gibraltar, bound for Australia and the eventual makings of me...having met her future husband enroute ....I get real teary when I think of Finisterre, long before I read that she had sighted it and other family members noted it in their journals..(from which I have quoted)
it's all there in the DNA hey what?
I will be doing the Camino in 2015.
