Go and do...because life won't wait

I've done two Caminos. The first changed my life. The second confirmed my changes were the right ones at the time but opened me up for more change.

I have been planning on doing the Camino for 4 years.... this is a life plan for me. It's clear to me I must do this. My question concerns how you've all managed to save the money required for plan fare round trip and the journey itself. I am thinking it will be in the neighborhood of $3,000 and being single and on one income it's so hard to get that much saved. Any advice from those who have experienced the Camino?

It's very clear to me I should do the Camino before I get too old and or am unable to go for health reasons. Right now I'm strong and healthy but we all know that can change in a day.

I loved the French Camino has anyone done the Portuges Way? Is it any harder and are there many alburges or places to sleepover?
Thanks. Denny.
