Sorry for the correction, that photo is taken at the entrance of Viscarret-Gerendiain, Navarra.
The Camino Francés does not pass through the Basque country.
Agur bat. (A greeting) in basque language.
@Mikel Olivares Hi - I am not too well versed in Spanish geography but my understanding is:
The Basque Country (Basque: Euskal Herria; French: Pays basque; Spanish: Vasconia or País Vasco) is the name given to the home of the Basque people[1] in the western Pyrenees that straddles the border between France and Spain on the Atlantic coast. Euskal Herria is the oldest documented Basque name for the area they inhabit, dating to the 16th century[2]and thus predates the emergence of Basque nationalism by at least two centuries.
Hello jozero.
I would like to have a conversation with you on this subject.
But I think it is not the right medium for it, besides my level of English language is not good enough for it.
Just say, that the Camino de Santiago Frances enters in Spain by the Comunidad Foral de Navarra and runs through It until reach Rioja. At no point does it pass through Euskadi (Pais Vasco)
Greetings and Buen Camino.
