At first I thought Roman roads would be romantic....not so much. They are uneven and you can easily twist your ankle or fall. My advise on Roman roads is to go slow.

yes - second this for sure!
Lovely and intriguing to look at, pondering its history - yet quite a challenge to travel on - especially with moisture still on the ground. Proceed with caution - (those paths were another reason being grateful for those hiking poles!)
