Hey all, I'm a day into the Camino Inglés out of Ferrol and often (but not always) I see other bollards with a Christian Ichthys / fish symbol, and the mileage (kilometrage?) is a lot less than to Santiago. I assume this is another pilgrimage, like on the Portuguese you see blue arrows in the opposite direction pointing to Fatima.

Sorry no photo, but the bollards look newer than the standard Galician Santiago ones.

Does anyone know?

San Andres de Teixido is a fascinating place with its own unique traditions and mythology. Well worth a visit. I started a walk to Santiago from there in 2018 and had the good fortune to be blessed by the parish priest and shown the relic of the apostle Andrew held in the church there. It added something to the journey to begin and end at the shrines of two apostles!

The fish is also a Christian symbol because the initial letters of ' Iesous Christos Theou Yios Soter, i.e. Jesus Christ, Son of God, Saviour, made ICHTHYS.

For those curious about the fish but not having the time to follow the link here is a quote from the webpage:

The original road to Santo André is marked with the symbol of a fish (symbolising the sardine that the saint ate during his journey) ...
Just one sardine? 😈...@Bert45 has a more familiar (for me) version.
