Luggage service with most locations?

June 2022: Frances + Primitivo
Hi everyone,

Starting my first Camino in a week (!) from SJPDP.

My general question is (a) is there a "preferred" baggage service, and (b) which service has the most locations where they will store luggage for several weeks?

Context below. Thank you pilgrims!

I am going to send unnecessary luggage ahead, but I will need to intersect with it 1-2x.

My rough plan is to walk starting on June 2 or 3, and I will need to get my luggage somewhere on/around June 23. About 2 days later, I'll need to send my luggage onward again. I'll also be stopping in Oviedo for a friends wedding on July 2.

Potential stopping points seem like Leon or Oviedo?

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Probably need a bit more information. Guessing that

1. You're doing the Frances.
2. At Leon you'll will get on a train to Oviedo for the wedding
3. You will return to the Frances or
4. You will stay on the Primitivo to Santiago

Which route(s) / Caminos

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
As @trecile says as Correos covers both Caminos

With Paq Peregrino, Correos sends luggage, suitcases or bags along the Camino de Santiago.

This service allows pilgrims to send suitcases and packages to the post office in Santiago de Compostela or to any othe Correos post office along the Camino.

The pilgrim who wants to take his things with him without carrying a backpack has at his disposal the Paq Mochila, a daily luggage transport service from stage to stage.

BTW, the luggage transfer companies like Jacotrans and Caminofacíl will only send your bag one or possibly two "stages" ahead. They aren't set up for longer distance shipping.

Sorry for not providing enough info.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
I was able to use jacotrans to move a bag many stages ahead. I used hotels the night I be would arrive where the bag was waiting. I contacted the hotel in advance to confirm they would hold the bag for my arrival, that was never a problem. HTH, Buen Camino

My preferred luggage service company is CaminoFacil. I have used them many times over the past six years and they have never screwed up even once.

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!

Caminofacil did send our one big bag that we would not use from Burgos to Santiago. I don't remember how much they charged but it was delivered to our hotel who stored it until our arrival.

I just realized Correos only has locations in Spain. Does anyone know where the first correos location on CF is? I'm guessing I can use one of the other shorter term transfer companies to get my bags from SJPDP into Spain, and then switch to Correos for the longer term transfer/storage.

San Nicolás, 30, 31640, Auritz/burguete

From here is you need to check again. You need the "Oficinas"

Most people use Express Bourricot, the regular (French) transport for luggage from SJPdP to Roncesvalles. Their office is next to the Pilgrims Office in SJPdP.
From Roncesvalles you can use the Jacotrans transport to Zubiri (€ 7,--) or even to Pamplona (€ 12,--).
In the albergue of Roncesvalles we have envelopes in which you put your money, you write the destination on it and you attach the envelope to your luggage. In Pamplona there is a big Correos Office from where you can send your luggage on to your destination.

Thanks, everyone. Are these transfer companies good with security? One of the bags I plan to store for awhile will have my laptop, but I don't know if I should be concerned about that. I certainly don't want to carry it.

Just in case you have the time and don’t already know about it, the Camino del Salvador connects León to Oviedo in 4-6 glorious days over about 120 kilometers, taking you over the mountains that separate León from Asturias.

Good guide in English here. And lots of threads (some recent and “live”) in the Salvador subforoum.
