COVID Spain Entry Restrictions

I have seen vauge media references saying the Spain entry requirements for non-eu(U.S., etc) may expire Sept 1.

Anyone have any knowledge on this?

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

€149,-
To all intents and purposes, the so-called entry requirements do not affect us - the average well-heeled foreign tourist. The Spanish border official will stamp your passport on arrival (which takes an average of 21 seconds apparently) and wave you on your way. If you look like something other than a well-heeled foreign tourist however, they may, as the border officials in your and my country may, ask how much money you have and whether you have an onward or return ticket, why you are entering the country and then refuse you entry if they are not happy with the answer, but that is highly unlikely. Just remember you have 90 days in the Schengen zone.

The Spanish government prolongs their public health related entry restrictions by publishing an amending order that prolongs the validity of the main law (INT/657/2020) by a further month.

In recent months, they did so on 15 July, 15 June, 21 May, 30 April, 29 May and 26 February of this year - each time prolonging the validity of the entry restrictions until the end of the following month.

It's the 26th of August today and no amendment has been published yet to prolong or modify the current entry restrictions. August has 31 days. So ....?

As @trecile says, we will know very soon!

Correction! I committed the cardinal error of not double-checking the most recent information and going by what I had been familiar with up to now. In fact, as I see now, the current version of INT/657/2020 about Spain's public health related entry restrictions is valid not until the end of August but hasta las 24:00 horas del 15 de septiembre de 2022, sin perjuicio de su eventual modificación para responder a un cambio de circunstancias o a nuevas recomendaciones en el ámbito de la Unión Europea - so until the 15th of September 2022.

I believe that @Malachiuri is asking about Covid restrictions, not general requirements to enter Spain.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. Yes, I was asking about Covid issues.

I am aware of the Spainish websites and such, what I was reading were in media reports.

The present requirements arent that bad, but this trip I have 5 people traveling with me so any fewer hassles would be darn good news.

Thanks all,

M

In going to the Spanish website noted above, it seems they are only interested in people arriving via air. There’s no option for arrival via car or walking.

Being patient and resaonable is not helping!!
But it sure beats being impatient and unreasonable!

Unless we have a forum member who is an insider in the Spanish government health ministry, who is willing to spill the beans, we will just be dealing with conjecture and rumours. I don't see that it is helpful to do that.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

You are exactly correct!

I am finishing my 2020 covid Camino from Astorga and then going back to Leon for the San Sal and then Primitivo.

This trip has been postponed 3 times since due to Covid variant flare ups and a really enjoyable broken leg(0 out of 5 stars, dont recommend).

Currently I have all the patience and reason one would expect from a sugar hyped 7 year old on Christmas morning...

My hope in posting this was exactly as you mentioned. Someone on the ground with better info than our online media resources. Given my absoutely perfect Spanish skills after nearly 200 days of Duolingo Im sure to get the correct info from Spainish news outlets. Or tortilla recipies...

I think I know the answer, but by going to the UK, you leave the Schengen zone. If you stay in the UK (or any place other than the Schengen zone) for 90 days, you can then return to the Schengen zone for another 90 days. Then you can do it all over again indefinitely. Is this correct?

Yes, that’s correct. Specifically you can be in Schengen for 90 days in a 180 day period; so you don’t have to do it in 90-day blocks. There are a number of online Schengen calculators should anyone consider it necessary.

Bear in mind that there is no central database of the time you spend in Schengen; the stamps in your passport are definitive.

We had been hoping for the restrictions to be lifted, but took the booster last week as waiting until Sept 1 to hear anything didn't seem prudent. Since you need 14 days from the last booster we would have been cutting a bit too close to our flight date. :)

Am I correct in thinking as I’m from Australia 72 hrs before my flight to Barcelona I must complete the SpHlth online form.

I have not had a booster so I also need to do a PCR test before entry ???

If it's been more than 270 days since your last shot you would need a PCR or NAAT test within 72 hours or an antigen test within 24 hours.

Thanks, how does one prove the antigen test was done within 24 hours ?

Just read here-https://www.thelocal.es/20220916/spain-extends-covid-restrictions-for-travellers-from-non-eu-countries/- that they have been extended until at least November 15. I guess I will have to finish filling out my health locator form tomorrow. :(
