Planned Camino Frances/Ivierno (Sep 2022)
Good day pilgrims.
I have only 9 - 10 days of walk (my whole trip is on september 12 - 23), so i cant decide what section of CF to choose.
Sarria -> Fisterra or Ponferrada -> SdC?
I like: Forest/woods, lakes/rivers, big ascentions/mountains, less cities/towns - more nature.
I dont like: Empty fields, sea, shores, sand, asphalt walks.
Please help to choose.
Thank you.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Essential question.
Do you want to receive a Compostela?

If Yes, that restricts you to sections ending in SdC

Ponferrada to Santiago by the Camino Invierno will give you all of those things.

Thanks. Did not know about this camino. Its 263 km? Looks great for me.
Is it popular/crowded like CF? Will there be any problems to find albergues?

It's gaining in popularity but nothing compared to the Camino Frances, certainly no crowding. There are some long/tough stages but infrastructure is improving and plenty of accommodation options in September (I walked it same time last year, it took me 10 days).

There are plenty of Invierno threads on here, search away...

I think both Sacha and Flog offer interesting points of view… although I have not yet been on the Invierno. I do worry about the very tight timing for the Invierno though

My favourite section is Saint Jean Pied de Port to Logroño. Beautiful greenery, forests, mountains, medieval towns, etc
I second this. If I only had 9-10 days, following a more “standard” walking schedule, I might pick Pamplona - Burgos, or SJPP - Burgos if you can swing an extra day or so. Just such a different experience than the last stretch, but you’d have to let the idea of getting a completely go…

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

Where you are flying into and out of can make a huge difference to the value of any suggestions. How much time are you prepared to devote to starting and stopping?

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Flying to SdC. Have a total of 11 days, 9 of them is "walking" days.

btw, Camino de Invierno is marked with signs? My 3 camino apps dont have this route so i thouth ill just follow other pilgrims, but i read in other posts that it is not popular camino and i may not meet anyone along the way.
