Hi everyone! We are landing in Lisbon and then taking a train to Porto and then a town car to Baiona, Spain where will start our Camino. I have a QR code from the state of Oregon with my vax and booster dates. I think that is all I need. Is there anything else? And Do they check them on the trains? Thanks!!

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
They don’t check them on the trains, or anywhere really. I live in Portugal and I haven’t shown my vaccination proof anywhere for many months. Not sure about upon arrival in the country by air.

If someone is going to check, you should have your vaccination card, as the QR code from Oregon won't be compatible with the system that they use in Portugal.

Thanks. I was wondering if I should bring both. Good confirmation for me.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

Good to know. Thanks. Yeah- I was worried more about Spain. Seems like Portugal is more like how it is here in the US. We do not do that either

Regardless, I would carry my Vax card.
Although I am with @trecile on this one (better safe than sorry and the weight is negligible) when I walked my Camino May-June not once did the topic and\or need for showing papers came up.
As other noticed - restrictions are lifted.

When we left the US on 9/8 to fly to Madrid then to Porto we were asked for our vaccination card even though we had entered the information into the Spain Health system and received their QR code. No one has asked for either since

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

They’re not checking them!

Always get your information from official websites, don't make important decisions based on what random strangers tell you on the internet.
Great advice….but wait, aren’t YOU a random stranger on the internet?!?!? 🤔 So maybe this is NOT great advice. 😎

I have been in Portugal Spain and France since August 6. Only ONCE in all that time has the subject of vaccination, proof of or otherwise, come up at all. That was at Alpriate albergue and ultimately I was only allowed to stay there because I was able to prove I had had covid (the woman there was quite rude!).

I have travelled in taxis buses trains and aeroplanes as well as walking (obviously). No one cares about covid in Europe. Life is normal (apart from fuel prices!)

Greetings pilgrims. I am in espana now. Flew KLM Sept 6 and the airline required a prefilled form that included your QR, producing the Spain Health form QR. Nobody checked except the airline. However, do check, but I believe that as of October 1 Spain no longer requires that QR. They do insist on masks on public transit and at pharmacies. Happy safe travels.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
I think that those who have lost loved ones or are suffering with long Covid disagree with you.
I do think that Europe has moved forward very quickly re Covid, quicker than I would ever have imagined. It seems long forgotten by the vast majority in Spain apart from transport and pharmacies and even that is waning! Understand folks from other continents may have a different view.

Of course, but you have taken my point out of context. The point is that covid is being treated the same as any other disease or infection.
Yes which was always the plan. It had been normalised along with other illnesses of its type! Incredible job from all the agencies involved!
