Santiago to Muxia in 3 days

Time of past OR future Camino
Francés 2018, Inglés 2022, partial Francés 2022
Hi! I'm short on time. Wondering if it seems reasonable to take a bus to Negreira and walk to Muxia in 3 days from there? I've already walked Santiago to Negreira when I went to Finesterre. I'd like to stop in Dumbria the second night. Where would be a good place to stsy tge first night? Is the Muxia stretch overbooked now too? Thanks in advance

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

I walked this route in August, Nagreira to Santa Marina (21km) Santa Marina to Dumbria (23km) Dumbria to Muxia (20km). I can highly recommend the municipal in Dumbria. Have a look at the Camino Ninja app too, it helped me to plan my stages.

Awesome, thanks Sanantha! That's what I'll do. That looked like a good distance but I'm happy to hear from someone who walked it!

Sadly the Camino Ninja app isn't available anymore because the developer passed away. I've been using the Buen Camino app and it's great too

In 2017 I did Negreia-Muxia in 2 days. It was in the beginning of October and it was very hot. I cartied 15kg.
A couple of weeks ago I did the route in reverse in 2 days, though this year I used luggage transport.

I’m hoping for a three day walk from Santiago to Muxia very soon. I have done this three or four times before, but now that I’m over 70, I realize that it might be pushing it. But my stages are Santiago to Vilaserio to Dumbria to Muxia. There are two nice places in Vilaserio, and the Dumbria albergue is not to be missed. The third day into Muxia takes you past a very nice Romanesque church in moraime. And you have a nice beach entrance into muxia.

I walked from Santiago to Muxia in three days almost exactly 1 year ago. The off-piste stages we did were:
  • Santiago to A Pena - 29.6 km, stayed at Albergue Alto de Pena, €15, very nice couple running this albergue, but the group dinner after a long day (€12) was just barely adequate.
  • A Pena to O Logoso - 27.6 km, stayed at Albergue O Logoso, €14, Nice, modern accommodation, restaurant onsite, and food was good.
  • O Logoso to Muxia - 27.5 km, stayed at Albergue Arribada, €15, Nice, modern accommodation.
I originally thought this was an aggressive plan, but found my Camino legs were easily up to the task, and despite heavy rain on the second day, it was a joy to be back out walking and with much smaller crowds on this Camino PostScript.

I just realized this doesn't completely help in regards to accommodations for your specific plan, but if anything it shows you can definitely make it to Muxia from Negreira in that time frame.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc

Did you catch the bus to Negreira? Are there a few to choose from?

I will be following you with great interest. I have decided to walk the whole Invierno to Santiago and then to Muxia. I have walked to Finisterre 3 times when.much younger too.

Hi, @jennysa. I did walk from Santiago to Muxia in three days, my stages were — Santiago-Vilaserio-Dumbría-Muxia. I was dragging a bit on the Santiago to Vilaserio stage, but got there fine and was glad to have gone beyond Negreira. I had a findpenguins page for this year, and the Santiago-Muxia-Finisterre stages are, logically, at the end of the trip!

My husband and I would like to spend a night in Muxia after walking to Santiago but don’t have time to walk there. Rome to Rio says there’s busses twice daily, but if you go to the Monbus website...
