Camino Ingles at the end of March

I am considering to do the Camino Ingles at the end of March. Are there already people doing it? I have done previously other Caminos and one of the best part was to be able to meet people. Also, are there enough albergues open in this period?

Last year 373 people received a Compostela in March who had walked the Camino Ingles. The numbers may be a little smaller this year but there will be others on the Ingles. A much quieter route than the Frances. I have walked the Camino Ingles twice in winter and had no problems finding open albergues. The Xunta albergues are open all year round. Gronze should give you information about which private albergues are also open.

I walked it in early Apr about a decade ago, arriving in Santiago at the beginning of Easter. It wasn't busy. There were some albergues where I was the only person staying, others where there were maybe a dozen or so. I think this was a group of school friends with another couple. I saw them again, but only fleetingly.

Finding accommodation wasn't a problem, although one place was run by a local volunteer, who was at work at the time that I rang. It took him a little time to get to me with a key, so there was a little time to sit beside the bay and enjoy the view.

I think it’s too early to ask this question of jcat ., @jcat doesn’t start the inglés from Ferrol until March 15.

I just finished the Ingles. There was a total of 6 pilgrims that I saw each day. I was the only native English speaker, but communication wasn't difficult. Everything seemed to be open. It was a great Camino, but I would not say it was very social. Only because of the small number of pilgrims, but still great.

Nice plan. My 5h day was a short one from Sigueiro, so I arrived in Santiago pretty early.

I'm going to write up a detailed recap of my Camino in the coming days. The hills to get out of Pontedeume and Betanzos really get the heart and lungs kicking to start off those mornings. Also the Ingles is not as well marked as the Frances, but I had my Wise Pilgrim app to rely on when needed.

Yes, in March I had a full 2 1/2+ days of rainy weather. Not any heavy rain, just more of a steady light rain starting on day 2. It was still very enjoyable.

Mid March you'll be fine, if you leave it to the end of March you'll hit Semana Santa, the holy week. Which, if it's anything like this year, will be very, very busy! Either side of it was very quiet as per comments above ( 6 pilgrims ) when I started the trail was FULL. One group alone was 40 strong, when we all got to Bruma anyone that wasn't super early missed out on the public Albergue, the private was fully booked, as were the hotels in easy reach. Many had to walk on 10 km to the next Albergue, or taxi elsewhere.
According to the hospitalier at Bruma it's l like a four day wide wave (people starting Saturday - Tuesday before Easter) going through, then it drops back to normal.
Once I got over the shock - I expected it to be quiet - I loved it! Loads of wonderful people....
