  • "Jimmies" – after "Jimmy", the nickname given to the Roman god Mercury as patron (and insignia) of Signals in Commonwealth countries; the origin of this particular sobriquet for the god is unknown; there are a number of theories as to why 'Jimmy' was adopted as a term of endearment for the emblem. The most widely accepted is that it came from a very popular Royal Signals boxer, called Jimmy Emblem, who was the British Army Champion in 1924 and represented the Royal Signals Corps from 1921 to 1924.

If the AA folks are referred to as "Friends of Bill" then the exact analog would be "Friends of Jim." In Latin that would be "Amici Jim" Likely pronounced "ah-mee-chee Jim" if I recall correctly. In Spanish I think it could be "Amigos de Iago."

However if that is too familiar for some, then how about "Viri sancti Iacobi" or "Friends of Saint James?" In Spanish..."Amigos de Santiago."

On the other hand, one man or woman can consider themselves a Knight of the Way, or (FR) Chevalier de la Voie (or Chemin), (ES) "Caballero(a) del Camino", or (Lat) "Miles de via" (me-las de vee-ah).

Or simply...a pelerin, peregrino or pilgrim. Whatever...it is all good.

I think I would suggest:-
Forum Addicts = Friends of Ivar
Camino Addicts = Camigos (as Miguel_gp posted) maybe with 'de Santiago' added
