Camino Frances & Finisterre (2012); Ruta del Ebro (Tortosa to Sastago) (2014); Camino del Norte (Santander - Serdio) (2014); Camino Liebana & Camino Vadiniense (2014); Camino San Salvador (2015); Camino Olvidado (Sodupe - Reinosa) (2015); Camino del Norte (Irun - Deba & Serdio - Llanes) (2015)
The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
I'm planning to do that next year, going up the Ebro from Tortosa and splitting off at Gallur. So it's great to hear that you'll be the trailblazer.

A trailblazer? No pressure then! But it does feel like a bit of an adventure, especially compared to the Frances. I'll take some time out to check out the war memorial in Gandesa.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
I think it will be a wonderful adventure, with magnificent sierras on the way to the monastery of Santo Domingo de Silos, and I'm rather wishing I wasn't half committed to the Levante/Sureste this year. I'm assuming that it's relatively easy to get from Burgos to somewhere on the camino del norte (Comillas?) so as to avoid the crowds on the Francés?

Burgos is the end of the road for me this year, I have to get back to teach. I spent a long time toying with the idea of doing a Camino that would allow me to finish up in Santiago, without doing the Francés, but I opted for the walk rather than the destination. I am wondering how I might feel when I get to Burgos and feel the urge to carry on. It happened in 2012 when I got the train from Santiago to Irun and passed the Camino Norte trail. If I'd had any money I'd have miss the bus back to London and started walking all over again.

I did consider the Levante/Sureste this year but decided I would like to see that all the way to Santiago. Next year's project, the focus of my research, will be walking from the Mediterranean - from St Pere de Rodes - to the Atlantic via a number of Caminos (but not the Francés).

Hello Ramblanista:

I am thinking of starting the Camino just bfore Jaca until Pamplona, where I hope to continue on the Frances. So I am interested in finding out how your trip last june evolved....?

... if you finally walked it, please, tell me how those intial stages I am referring to are like, in case I'm not barking at the wrong tree...

Thank you

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Hi, Ofelia,
If you are thinking of walking from Jaca to Pamplona, you are more likely to get good information by looking in the Camino Aragonés section of this forum. https://www.caminodesantiago.me/community/forums/camino-aragonés.33/ This route, as I understand it, joins the Aragonés in San Juan de la Peña, which is a few days on from Jaca. Though there is still some overlap, I think you'll find that more people walk the Aragonés than the Ruta Castellano-Aragonés. I think this must be a great Camino, I´ve had it on my wish list for years now! Buen camino, Laurie
