Camino Ingles..........Sept. (2015)
Good day to all.

I am currently planing to walk the Camino Inglese in Sept. 2015, with my son, starting from Ferrol, and I had thought of incorporating A Coruna into the walk. Therefore starting in Ferrol and walking to Bruma, taking a taxi to A Coruna, and then walking to Santiago de Compostela from A Coruna.

We have 7 days to walk (Maybe 8). This is our 2nd Camino. We walked the Portuguese in Apr/May 2014, and took a leisurely pace of +/- 20Km's per day. We can increase the pace as required, we will just smell fewer roses.

Does anyone have any experience doing this ?
Division of stages ?

To those walking Buen Camino.
To those about to Buen Camino.
To those thinking about it....do it.

Best wishes and thanks, in advance

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

That breaks up the 100km continuous that is required for a Compostela. Check with the Pilgrim Office before you go, if a Compostela is important to you. What you describe would be a bit like walking O Cebreiro to Sarria, then taking a taxi to Melide to resume, which likely would not qualify.

Thanks for the input, I had not thought of it in those terms.

So to qualify I would or could, walk Bruma to A Coruna, and then back down.

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

Interesting concept. That would be like walking from Santiago to Melide, then back to Santiago. I have no idea how the Pilgrim Office would view a credential with that sequence. It might be best to ask beforehand. Ferrol to Santiago qualifies, so that might be the best choice of itinerary if you want to avoid controversy.

Thanks for your input, and indeed the simple would to walk Ferrol - Santiago.

I may explore this option with the Pilgrims office......I shall think about it.

Backtracking here: The last 100km does not have to be done at the same time. When you "quit" at Bruma, all you have to do is start again at Bruma, two days later or two years later, and walk on to Santiago. The requirement is to show the restart at Bruma with a sello and date. You will have walked Ferrol to Santiago with the side trip irrelevant. Buen camino.

Hi @mishlove. Nice to see you back on the forum .
You can send a conversation to Stephen Nicolls known on this forum who walked both distances from a Coruña and Ferrol. I only did one distance from Ferrol earlier this year in May.
Stephen has a blog where you can read everything and well detailed.

Merry Christmas and happy new year and buen camino

Good Day to you Albertinho, and many thanks for your reply. I shall do as you suggest.

Best wishes to you and yours.

If you have time to walk both, as Stephen did, then why not walk A Coruna to Bruma/Meson do Vento, bus/taxi to Ferrol and then walk Ferrol to Santiago which will qualify for the Compostela.
Buen Camino

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

Hi, I'm planning a similar way for late 2015. Did you consider the opportunity of extend the English way, starting in Ferrol, then reaching Mino, then taking the road direct to La Coruna (25km). Finally to reach Santiago along the traditional way?

There are two starting points on the Ingles. One starts in a Coruña and leads in about 86 kms to Santiago. The other one goes from Ferrol to Santiago in about 120 kms. Both come together in Bruma. From there you are about 45 till 50 kms away from Santiago.

You do not write if you walk from Miño to a Coruña or take public transport or so. But to Miño from Ferrol is about 45 kms + the 86 from a Coruña is suitable for a Compostela certificate as I am well informed. But there are other forummembers/specialists in that field who could confirm this -or not .
Our forummember and good friend Stephan Nicolls started in a Coruña last year, walked to Bruma ,bussed to Ferrol and walked back all the way from there to Santiago and got his Compostela.

By doing your plan you will miss the beatifull place of Betanzos with a very nice albergue. I think there will be a public transport link from there to a Coruña.
So maybe that will be an alternative to think about.
What I should do if I should walk the ingles again I should go as far as Bruma as the confluence of both legs of the camino and should have stamped my credential twice there as Falcon suggested here above on this thread.
Buen camino
