Planning possible stages from Port de la Selva to Montserrat

This isn't really about the Cami Catalan/Cami St. Jaume because it deals with a segment BEFORE Montserrat, but that's where I'm planning to start my Camino this June. I have been playing around with various ways to stage this walk, which is not an official Camino. If anyone has reactions/advice to this first draft, please let me know. I would like to devote no more than 9 days to this chunk of my 2015 camino. Any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated, particularly after Girona. Buen camino, Laurie

Day 1 -- Llanca to Figueres (30?). There is a marked route from Port de la Selva, but it's an expensive touristy town. I can get a train from Barcelona direct to Llanca, and there is a 23€ youth hostel there. Then my walk begins in Llanca, taking the GR11 (thanks, Castilian) to the monastery of San Pere de Rodes, at which point I´ll join the Camino.

Day 2 -- possibilities will be either Bascara (17) where there is a pension, or someplace further along, like Viladasens (26) where there may be casas rurales. It doesn´t really matter, because Day 3 will end in Girona, no matter where I end on Day 2.

Day 3 -- into Girona -- either 33 or 24 depending on where I slept on Day 2.

Day 4 -- Girona to Les Planes De Hostales -- 33

Day 5 -- to L´Esquirol -- 34

Day 6 -- EITHER just to Vic (18) or a longer day onto L´Estany (39). Not much in the way of elevation gain, so I can do the 39, but wouldn´t mind a shorter day if anyone has ideas.

Day 7 -- Assuming I go to L´Estany, I would continue to Navarcles (32).

Day 8 -- Manresa is only 10 after Navarcles, so depending on how I´m feeling, I could make it all the way to Montserrat, total being about 36.

From Montserrat to the Aragonés requires much less planning because of the great albergue system. I´m thinking that Montserrat to Puente la Reina will be about another 14 or 15 days, but I will undoubtedly have questions when I turn my attention to that chunk of the Camino as well. I know there aren´t many people with an interest or with experience in this camino, but I have fingers crossed there are a few of you out there! Buen camino, Laurie

Verify the lenght of days 4 and 5. The web that I use as a reference (see link bellow) states it's 33 kms from Girona to Amer... so it would be more to Les Planes de Hostales. From Girona to L'Esquirol, you quote 67 kms while the web I'll link quotes roughly 75 kms... So verify what are the real figures.

Oh, I'm so familiar with this problem, thanks, Castilian. When I walked the Invierno, the guide book told me I was walking 29, when in fact it was 43 -- this happened a few times, so I know it is totally possible.

I've checked road distances for those stages and they are roughly the same as what I've got for the first day. The second day is more complicated.

I think the difference is that the Girona to L'Esquirol distance of 75 km is not the route that the camino goes, because there are some off-road sections. The route I see when I look to drive Girona to L'Esquirol is totally different than the route the Generalitat guide shows me. But I will keep checking! Thanks much, Laurie

I hope to walk el port de la selva to Montserrat to Zaragoza in a few weeks. Did you do this and how was it? I cannot /do not want to walk over 25 kms a day. Thanks
