Are there any Forum members in West Cork?

Hi - I live in upstate New York, but will be spending quite a bit of time again this year in Schull, West Cork. Are there any forum members located around there? I'd love to get together for a drink or a walk. Or both. I'll be over there April 5 - May 12, then again most of the summer. I have to empty out and sell my father's house there, so it will be a rather depressing time. He was the reason I did the camino in 2013. I'm also curious about the "new" Irish pilgrimage routes - not sure how much time I will have in reality, but I'd love to do at least one of them. Thanks, Cherry

I was in beautiful Schull last summer, and I may be returning in August this year to The Sheeps Head peninsula about 30 mins away - if it comes off I will PM you

Thanks Nuala, and everyone else who responded. My father actually died a few years ago and we've been renting out the house with the hopes of moving there, but that's never going to happen, so I need to sell it. When my first grandson was born in Spain 16 years ago I met up with my father for the occasion, and afterwards drove to Santiago as he told me he'd always wanted to do the Camino (I never knew about it). So I always had it in mind that we would do part of it together. Sadly that never happened, but I went in the fall of 2013 in his honor and had his name added to my compostela.

Hi - There're beautiful walks all over Ireland I think. We have done some walks over nearer you in the past, but this time it's definitely a West Cork type of deal I think. Hopefully I'll get to do at least one walk while I'm there.
