:oops:Has anyone walked CM late may/June in 2014. Do trains from Sahgan to Madrid need to be booked in advanced.. Have tried.. Maybe I need to wait until May b4 timetable is available.
Any advise about The Madrid route would appreciated.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

I did it in June 2014, but as I see you already found my thread with day-by-day journal :)
If you need any additional info don't hesitate to ask. It's a beautiful Camino!!!

Ultreia!

PS (Welcome to the forum ;))
PS2 (I flew directly to Madrid so can't give you exact answer regarding trains. But why would you want to go from Sahagun to Madrid? To do this route as a detour Camino?)

If you don't bother to take one of the slower MD trains, you wouldn't need to book it in advance. You should be fine getting a ticket the day of your departure. OTOH, if you plan to take an Alvia or Intercity train, it would be a good idea to book in advance not only to put your mind to rest but also because you could get a discounted fare. Note: the new high speed line from Valladolid to León is expected to be opened before summer. If it happened to be opened before your travel date, most likely, the only direct option from Sahagún to Madrid would be a MD train.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.

Oh.. I am limited for time this year.. Have 12 days starting in Madrid & finishing in Sahgan, where I will need to catch a train back to Madrid on the 10/6.
Will miss not going to SDC & Finesterre .which I did on Camino Francis & Camino Norte.

I posted that list in another thread that you've started:

The Renfe site shows me 3 trains on June 1st from Sahagun to Madrid at 10:02, 13:25 & 15:03. The ride takes approx.2,5hrs and the lowest prices are between 13,50€ and 25,25€. Haven't seek further into June but it looks like these 3 trains are running everyday at the same schedule.
