Hjerkinn to Trondheim

Hi there, fellow pilgrims.

Finally I made it, I walked the Olav's Way from Hjerkinn to Trondheim.

Eight days of impressive landscapes, suffering, enjoyment, cold, hot, rain, feet pain and hundreds of feelings that I'll take with me for the rest of my life.

Loved the Dovre mountains. Ryphusan was the only point where I met other pilgrims, the rest of the path I was alone.

Everybody was kind and helpful. A couple of times I finished my water and those farmers were kindly willing to refill my bladder.

I wore a pair of vent shoes so I got my feet completely soaked many times. The mountains seemed to be crying; thousands of streams slid down the hillsides making the path hard and uncomfortable, dangerous at times. That mud knows my backquarters very well.

Loved the stay at Gjesseheim Havdal. The owners were charming, the bed amazingly comfortable and the breakfast delightful. Holland is a small country but you can find a dutch almost everywhere.

I specially enjoyed the time I spent with Joar at Rennebu, chatting about the beautiful church, about the way, about life... So nice...

I totally recommend this norwegian path. Not easy. Big challenge. Fascinating.

One day I'll walk the entire way. I'll be back in the north.

Congratulations! It sounds beautiful and what an accomplishment! I hope to get to Trondheim someday, but will rely on Hurtigruten:0))

I live in Trondheim! It IS definitely a beautiful walk! This summer has been an especially cold and wet summer so not surprised you got your feet wet! One day I hope to do the trip all the way from Oslo to Trondheim.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Yes. Many people told me that about this summer, maybe the coldest in years . It's true that I expected a hotter weather but it was ok. Now I remember even the hardest moments as great moments and wouldn't change anything.

Trondheim is a beautiful city. I stayed overnight at Vandrerhjem Rosenborg Hostel and that neighborhood reminds me of my yearned San Francisco with those hills and buildings.
