The option coming down from Davadola to Assisi is VERY beautiful and peaceful too - and very hard, with many ups and downs. There is also a English guide done by the Italians for the section from la Verna, a more travelled route in my experience. http://www.diquipassofrancesco.it/En/

The route from Lucca is also lovely - different, and in some ways harder because it is more populated, but lovely nonetheless.
