Boot problem

Hi folks, I wonder if you can help me with this.

I leave home setting off for this years camino tomorrow, and after visiting friends/family and catching the ferry to Spain I get to Sevilla where I start the VDLP on April 4th. I am staying with a pilgrim friend there and plan to start walking April 10th.

The boots I use are perfect for me, I am on my second pair. Never had any problems with them.
However, I plan to be walking for five months or more (VDLP, Ingles, Baztanes, Frances then walk back to Santander). My current boots I walked in for five months last year and I am a little worried they might not make it, so...

I have found a Spanish website with my boots on sale (55 Euro's instead of over 200 Euro's), but do not have time now to get them sent to me at home (UK). My friend in Sevilla, for various reasons cannot get them sent to him.

I was wondering if there is a service like in France that I could order them to a post office or such where I could pick them up from once I arrive in Sevilla?

Before anyone states the obvious, I understand that breaking in the boots needs to take place, but my previous boots were not too bad in this respect and I will be going slow anyway.

Very helpful mspath thank you! That Correos website is very informative, I did not realise that they offered so many services for pilgrims! Even if I don't use them this time I have bookmarked their website for future use!

Also the link to the forum, it seems I am not the first with this 'problem', most informative.

Hi Davey,
I just want to wish you well on your upcoming 5 month...shall I say, "expedition"?! I enjoyed the daily postings from your Camino in France last spring and will be watching for news as you walk/hike/trek your way once again on some new turf!

Thank you! No I could not send them to Ivar as I start in Seville. I catch a ferry from England to Santander, then a bus to Seville the next day. I am in Seville a while so it would be best to send them there!

As a matter of fact I have resolved it now, my friend in Seville has said I can send them to his parents there.

Mailboxes ETC
This is my new favorite method. I’ve had good luck shipping to Mailboxes ETC. They have locations in major cities around the world. They’re a lot smaller than a major post office (and privately owned which is always a plus). Just find a location online and call in advance to let them know you’re sending something to get picked up.

@Davey Boyd just make sure the website you have found is genuine! I have just been scammed when I ordered a new pair of Ecco sandals online - what arrived was nothing like Ecco sandals, and nothing like the photos on the website - just cheap vinyl sandals - I don't know why they bothered sending anything at all! I should have known the price was too good to be true. The scammers copy the genuine websites, even down to the SSL certificate symbols - although now I know they don't "click through" to the certification but are just images cut and pasted on the page.

So beware friends. I can't imagine anything more disheartening to pay for and think you had a pair of your favourite walking shoes waiting for you at a post office, only to find either nothing, or rubbish.

Thanks Kanga, Ive cancelled payment and I'll check them out just in case. The boots do seem unreasonably cheap!
